In Maths, in Year 2 we have been learning about 2D shapes. We have been learning about naming 2D shapes and their properties. We have also been sorting the 2D shapes based on their number of sides and vertices and the number of lines of symmetries. In English, we have been learning about using expanded noun phrases to describe a range of different settings from our Power of Reading Text ‘A River’. We then used our expanded noun phrases to write a descriptive paragraph. In Science this week we carried out a ramp investigation to test a range of ramps made from different materials. We ensured it was a fair test and tested to see how far the car travelled on each ramp. We also really enjoyed taking part in World Book Day. We loved reading with our reading buddies in Year 5 and creating our own book cover designs. We also took part in a workshop led by Karen Lord and Shanee Buxton learning about being unique. In DT, we used our knowledge about stiffness and strength to make a chair for Baby Bear out of card and paper.
