Each week, a child in each class will be rewarded with a certificate for their efforts to contribute to one of the articles in our charter.

At Brookfield we are working towards our Rights Respecting Schools silver award and children are learning about the rights of the child.
This week we have been thinking of article 31:
Article 31 (Leisure, play and culture)
You have the right to play and take part in cultural and artistic activities and you have the right to rest.
Even though the right to play may not always seem as important as others, such as the right to health or protection, we know that rights are indivisible and play is central to children’s development.
These are some activities for your children to exercise their right to relax and play straight away – including dancing and drawing for younger children and mindfulness exercises for older ones. They can also think about clubs at your school and whether there is something enjoyable and accessible for everyone, as well as how they will enjoy their upcoming summer break.
