Wow, we cannot believe that it is already nearly the end of term, the end of the school year and the end of Year 5. The children have had an incredibly busy year with lots of different experiences and the team in Year 5 fill miss .
This week, the children have enjoyed Arts Weeks immensely. It allowed them to experience art in different forms whether through drawing, painting, dancing, singing and expressing themselves in different ways. It was also lovely to end the week with a showcase to parents. The children opened up their classroom door from 3pm and were allowed to show off their dioramas for DT, their printing, their mathematical spirals plus much more.
Some children in Year 5 were lucky enough to meet the writer of the tv programme 'Jo Jo and Gran and Gran'. The author Laura Henry Allain spoke to the children about what makes a writer. She gave some important hints and tips and the children really enjoyed the session.
There was also much excitement in the corridors when the children found out the names of their new teachers and the support staff within their class. That excitement continued when they got to 'meet the teacher'.
