This week, Year 2 have been very busy completing lots of different fun activities!
Firstly, in science, we have been exploring how we can look after our bodies. This has included looking at how we can stay active when we are at school and at home. The children can up with some great ways including: cycling, playing in the park, swimming and going on the trampoline. We also looked at what a healthy diet and investigated what food was good for our bodies. We used the traffic light system on the food packaging to help us. Finally, this week we looked at germs! We know germs are all around us but we undertook a fun experiment to see how they spread. We discovered quite quickly that they can spread really fast and easily! Our glitter experiment helped discover this as we all started with one colour glitter and after shaking hands with others, the glitters began to mix.
During arts week, we also created a range of art pieces. The theme was 'I am an artist'. We started the week by thinking artists just paint and draw but we soon found out that other subjects are included in 'art' such as: music, dance and story telling. Year 2 were lucky to be able to take part in a music workshop where they were able to play new musical instruments.
Finally in maths, we were looking at data and statistics. We used a range of venn diagrams and tables to explore the data in our class. Some data we looked at was 'what sport is your favourite?' and 'do you have brown hair and blue eyes?'.
We cannot believe it is coming to the end of year 2 but we are looking forward to our last week as Crystal and Garnet Class!
