As we end our year, staff have been reflecting together on our successes and celebrations as a school. It has been a truly amazing year, full of wonderful experiences and opportunities for our pupils and staff which we have shared with you via social media and in our newsletters.
We are so proud of our pupils and want to congratulate them all on their successes this year! They have all shone brightly and continue to show our LEO PRIDE Values.
Thank you to our wonderful PTFA Exec Committee members who have worked tremendously hard to organise such fabulous fundraising events to raise money for the school. Thank you to our Governors and volunteers for all their hard work and support this year. Thank you also to our staff at Brookfield . Your passion, commitment and drive to support and inspire our pupils is something we are extremely proud of and grateful for.
We also extend our thanks to you, as parents. Thank you once again for working with us to ensure our pupils are safe and happy and encouraged to dream, believe and achieve as they work towards their goals and ambitions.
Leavers and Joiners
Sadly, we have to say goodbye to a few of our members of staff: Mrs Davies and Miss Almeida who are relocating to different parts of the country and Miss Tipping who is embarking on a career in Educational Psychology. We thank them for their hard work and dedication to Brookfield and wish them all the best in their future endeavours. Please do keep in touch and let us know how you are doing. We also say goodbye to Mrs Chadha who will be starting her office role at Cheam Park Farm Academy in September. Thank you Mrs Chadha, we will miss you!
We are looking forward to welcoming Mrs Reddington (Pearl Class, Nursery pm), Miss Cartledge (Emerald Class, Year 1), Mrs Lynch (Onyx Class, Year 5) and Miss Wilson (Quartz Class, Year 6). Mrs Andrews will also be joining our teaching staff in September and will be job sharing with Mrs Lomax (Amethyst Class, Year 4). Miss Gaul and Mrs Griffiths will be joining our office team, working alongside Mrs Bolger and Mrs Langford (Hub Office Manager).
Goodbye and Good Luck Year 6!
Very best wishes to our wonderful Year 6 pupils as they start the next stage of their educational journeys at high school. We are proud of their achievements and know that we send them on to their new high schools having had some wonderful, memorable learning experiences.
We wish you all a happy, safe Summer Break and we look forward to seeing you in September!
Due to the extremely high temperatures forecast for next Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th July, it is imperative that you must:
Send your child in with a sunhat (ones that provide shade for the face and neck are best). Unfortunately all children will have to stay in the shade if they do not have a hat.
Ensure your child has a bottle of water, they can refill these as often as they like.
Apply a high factor sun cream to your child before they come to school (please do not send sun cream into school as staff are not permitted to reapply to pupils).
Also, we will be adapting the school timetable to take into account the hot weather.
Brookfield will be open as normal next week for all children. Please report 'Heatwave Absence' via this link.
The children were very excited to receive a special thank you from the Queen for their Jubilee art work that they sent to her to celebrate her Platinum Jubilee.
We had a wonderful Arts Week this year with children across the school exploring painting, sculpting, printing, drama, poetry, creative writing, music, dance and performance through a variety of activities and exploring a range of artists across these disciplines. Thank you to all the parents who took the time to celebrate the children’s work and look at our showcase tables on Friday afternoon. It was a lovely way to end the week with children proudly showcasing their achievements.
Nursery created underwater inspired art and tried to use dance moves to move like underwater creatures!
Reception and Year 2 children spent time with percussionist Donal learning how to follow a rhythm with different instruments.
Years 1 and 3 enjoyed a fabulous session from Presto Performing arts and even got to learn part of the Matilda stage show dance routine!
Year 4 worked with Sarah Eversfield using block printing techniques.
Year 5 had a special creative writing workshop.
Year 6 explored fashion designers and two children got to design and make their own tshirt! A huge thank you to our parent volunteer, Lauren, for supporting with this. Please take a look at Lauren's Facebook page: Lauren’s Personalised Presents.
Congratulations to the following children for winning the Golden Raffle and demonstrating the Brookfield Golden Rules and Dining Hall values everyday.

Sadly, we need to bring to your attention the inconsiderate parking in Violet Close.
Violet Close has parking bays for residents only. Please do not use their parking bays or block cars in. We know pick up and drop off times are difficult and very busy due to large amounts of children on our site, however a small minority of parents from the school, are still parking without any thought for our local residents or parents walking their children to school.
We are an eco school, I would like to encourage parents and pupils to use more sustainable modes of travel to get to school where this is possible. I do understand that parents or carers will sometimes need to drive their children to school, however, I would urge where possible for parents/carers to park away from the school and then walk in.
Thank you in advance for you support in this important issue and let’s hope together we can ensure the safety of the children and be more considerate to our local residents.
The Government has developed a series of documents to support a childcare campaign, trying to ensure that parents get access to resources that will support them in light of the rising cost of living.
Please go to the following website www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/ to find information about support available to parents with the cost of childcare (children aged 0- 11).
We have limited spaces - sign your child up using the QR code or complete this form.
