We have been learning.....

Writing - This week is Arts week so we had the pleasure of watching the author Laura Henry-Allain read her books entitled JoJo and Gran-Gran. We then finished the week studying her new book My skin, Your Skin.

Reading - This week we are reading individually with your child to ensure they are choosing the correct colour level. Please let us know how they get on with their home reading books. We have also completed our normal group reading sessions. Please check your child's Collins ebooks account to share new books that have been uploaded.

Maths - We are revising all of the subjects that we have covered this year so far and identifying any gaps and difficulties that the children may have.

Science-This week we continued our new topic on seasonal change. We have looked at the behaviour of animals in each of the seasons and learnt the words hibernation and migration.

PSHE-. We continued our new topic 'Changing Me’. We have looked at how we have grown and changed since we were babies.

Design and Technology- We enjoyed using all the skills we have learnt over the past few weeks to start making our shoebox space models.

Art-As part of arts week we drew self-portraits. We looked closely at our faces using mirrors and tried to make our pictures look just like us. We then had great fun guessing who was who!

Geography This week we looked at aerial photographs of our local area, and created a key to show landmarks such as St. Marks church on a map.

Computing We enjoyed continuing to look at Google Earth, and everyone was really excited to find their own home.

Outdoor PE focus for the term We carried on with our athletics units and completed hurdling, javelin and relay activities. We also practised our ball skills by rolling, throwing and catching playground balls.
