What a busy fortnight it has been! Our Year 6 students recently completed their mock SATs week, and we are incredibly proud of their hard work and resilience. They approached each test with focus and determination, showcasing the progress they've made throughout the year. In maths, we delved into the world of negative numbers, exploring their practical applications and solving challenging problems. In science, the children turned into budding physicists, investigating how voltage affects the brightness of a light bulb. They conducted experiments, recorded observations, and drew conclusions, demonstrating their scientific inquiry skills. To bring history to life, we held a World War II day, where students experienced what life was like during the war. They explored the roles of ARP wardens, examined historical artifacts, and even practiced basic first aid techniques. Finally, to wrap up our WWII topic, the children completed their disciplinary writing, analysing the profound impact of the war on Britain. We are so impressed with the children's enthusiasm and engagement in all their learning this past fortnight.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:
Maths - Fractions
Writing - We will be looking at poetry.
Reading - focusing on vocabulary and understanding of the text.
Science - We will be starting our new topic on the circulatory system.
Geography - We will be starting our new topic 'Where does our energy come from?'
