This half term our theme is 'Things that move (Animals)'. Over the past two weeks we have been reading 'What the ladybird heard', 'Dinosaurs love underpants' and 'We're going on an egg hunt'.
In Maths this term, we continue to focus on one number each week. Over the past two weeks we have been learning about the number 10 and recapping the numbers 0 - 9.
In Phonics, we continue to learn about different phonemes (individual sounds). Over the past two weeks we have looked at 'f' (fish, flamingo and foot), 'l' (lemon, lollipop, letter) and 'j' (jug, jam, jellyfish). Each week we continue to work on our segmenting and blending skills, which help us to break down the different sounds in words and then blend them together again to remake the word (e.g. f-i-sh, l-o-g, j-a-m).
In Computing, we have been learning how to take a photo on the chrome tabs and upload them to Seesaw. We each got to choose something to take a photograph of and learnt how to press the correct button to take it.
In Music, we thinking about different animals, the sounds that they make and how we can represent these with our bodies. Such as stomping our feet as elephants.
In R.E we continue to learn about the Easter story and the significance of Easter eggs and hot cross buns. We even got to taste some hot cross buns! This week we enjoyed a visit from Hannah, the vicar at St Oswald's, who spoke to us about Easter and read us the Easter story. Hannah also taught us the sign for Jesus. We have enjoyed taking part in other Easter activities, such as making Easter chocolate rice krispie baskets where we mixed together melted chocolate and rice krispies before forming them in cupcake cases and decorating them with sprinkles.
The Easter Bonnet Parade was enjoyed by all where we showed off our Easter headgear!
