What a fantastic half term Year 3 has had! We've journeyed to the icy plains of Antarctica, explored the life of a legendary adventurer, and even delved into the fascinating world of light and shadows.
Our budding writers have been busy crafting incredible diary entries and biographies, bringing the daring exploits of Edmund Hillary to life. They’ve truly captured the spirit of his incredible achievements, and we've been so impressed with their descriptive writing and attention to detail.
In geography, we've become experts in Antarctica! We've learned about its unique physical geography, the brave researchers who call it home, and the incredible adaptations of the animals that survive in such extreme conditions. It's been a truly eye-opening experience for everyone.
Science has been equally exciting! We've explored the world of light sources and shadows, conducting experiments and discovering how light interacts with different objects. Our classroom has been filled with fascinating shadow puppets and illuminating discussions.
To add a splash of colour and cultural understanding to our half term, we also enjoyed a vibrant assembly about Holi, the Hindu Festival of Colours. It was wonderful to learn about the traditions and significance of this joyful celebration.
The children took part in a workshop by Sutton School Works a Christian organisation. The children pretended to be CSI investigators and delved into the Easter story. They had great fun working out clues to expand their understanding of easter and the meaning of the Easter story to Christians.
We're incredibly proud of all the hard work and enthusiasm Year 3 has shown this half term. They've embraced every challenge with a smile and have made fantastic progress.
We hope you all have a restful break, and we look forward to more exciting learning adventures next half term!
