NURSERY
NURSERY
A very warm welcome back to the summer term! We've had an absolutely fantastic start, diving straight into the joys of Easter. It was wonderful to see all the children embracing the Easter spirit and getting creative with a flurry of crafts.
Our EYFS Easter Bonnet Parade was a resounding success! The children beamed with pride as they showed off their marvellous creations – such imaginative and colourful bonnets! Following the parade, the Easter dance-off was a highlight, with everyone enthusiastically showing off their best moves. What a joyful way to celebrate!
This week, we've been waddling into the delightful world of "Five Little Ducks." The children have been singing the familiar tune and exploring different versions of the story. Their imaginations have truly taken flight during our discussions about where those little ducks disappeared to "over the hill and far away." We've heard some truly fantastic and imaginative ideas!
The artistic flair in Nursery has been incredible this week too. We've seen some stunning paintings of ducks happily swimming in the pond, and the children have had great fun creating their own ducks adorned with a vibrant array of colourful feathers.
We are so thrilled with the enthusiasm and engagement the children have shown in their learning this week. We're looking forward to continuing the term filled with fun, exploration, and discovery!
RECEPTION
What a truly amazing start to our new term in Reception! The children have returned with such enthusiasm and energy, ready for lots of exciting learning and play.
We kicked things off in spectacular style with our amazing Easter bonnet parade! It was a fun-filled afternoon where the children's creativity truly shone. Their fabulous Easter-decorated hats and bonnets were a sight to behold, each one a unique masterpiece. We all had a wonderful time dancing and singing our favourite songs together – what a joyful way to begin the term.
Reception celebrated Earth Day, focusing on "Our Power, Our Planet" and how we can keep Earth clean. We discussed small actions, with the children pledging to put rubbish in the bin to protect the oceans and to save water by turning off taps after washing hands and while brushing teeth. It was inspiring to see their understanding and commitment to caring for our planet through these simple actions
Our theme for this term, "Once Upon a Time," has already whisked us away into the enchanting world of stories. We have delved into the classic tale of Little Red Riding Hood, with the children thoroughly enjoying reading and learning all about her adventures. This week, their imaginations soared as they embarked on creating their very own versions of the story! They designed their own wonderful characters and imagined new and exciting settings, bringing them to life through their drawings and descriptive words.
Our budding creators have also been busy with some fantastic construction! They designed and created their own special baskets for Little Red Riding Hood to carry her goodies to Grandma. Using an array of junk modelling resources, we saw a fantastic range of baskets, both big and small, taking shape.
This week, we have been so lucky to bask in the glorious warm weather, making the most of lots of outdoor learning opportunities. The clothes shop role play continues to be a huge hit, with children eagerly "shopping" for new outfits daily. Our little drivers have been busy enjoying our popular car wash! The children designed and created their very own car wash area and have been enthusiastically washing, soaping, and shining everything from bikes to scooters – a truly bubbly and brilliant activity!
Join us next time to find out more about our exciting adventures in play and learning as our "Once Upon a Time" theme continues to unfold!
