NURSERY

Happy New Year everyone!

Welcome back to the Spring Term in Nursery. It's been wonderful to see all the children return with such big smiles and bundles of energy. We've had a very busy start to the term as everyone has settled back into our nursery routines.

There's been so much to explore! In science, we've been investigating which objects sink and float, making some surprising discoveries along the way. Our construction area has been transformed into a bustling bus station, with some amazing vehicles being built. The children have also loved pretending to be grown-ups in our new laundrette role-play area.

We've introduced some exciting new technology resources too! The children have been zooming around with the Sphero Indi cars and learning early coding skills with the Lego train. It's been amazing to see their problem-solving abilities in action.

Of course, we've also been having lots of fun with our traditional activities. Dough disco has been a firm favourite, helping everyone develop those important hand muscles. We even had a fantastic PE lesson with the school sports coach! We've been practising writing our names on the Chrometabs and making great progress. In maths, we've been exploring numbers to 5, matching them to Numicon shapes and even forming the numbers in sparkly glitter.

It's going to be a fantastic term filled with learning and laughter. Thank you for your continued support!

Happy New Year! Happy Spring Term!

It's been lovely welcoming all the learners back this term, and what a fantastic start it has been! We returned to a very frosty beginning, with cold temperatures that inspired the children to explore the wonders of winter. They had a blast investigating the frozen features of our outdoor environment.

Our new term's learning theme, "Animals All Around the World," has been a big hit! The children have been captivated by exploring the icy outdoors and working together to free toy animals from frozen blocks of ice using warm water and mini hammers.

In literacy our core text "We're Going on a Monster Hunt" has unleashed a wave of creativity! Learners have been excitedly designing their own incredible monsters with a diverse range of art and collage materials. Our classrooms has been overrun with monsters! The children have been hard at work not only designing their own amazing creatures but also using their phonics knowledge to write super sentences describing them.

We are also becoming more confident using technology in the classroom. The children are enjoying exploring different learning apps to practice their phonics, reading, and maths skills. It's wonderful to see them taking charge of their learning!

This term, our outdoor classroom got some exciting new additions! We're now home to a full-service bike and scooter garage, where our amazing mechanics have been busy fixing up all kinds of broken and faulty vehicles. We also got a fresh delivery of den-making materials, and the results have been awesome! Teams of creative builders have been working together on some incredible dens, sparking all sorts of imaginative adventures and playtime fun.

We're having a blast in maths as we dive into the wonderful world of number bonds to 5! We're exploring all the different ways to make 5 using our fingers, fun games, and even the classic nursery rhyme "Five Little Speckled Frogs." Ribbit! 

We are excited to embark on a new term filled with opportunities for learning and exploration.
