Trombone

A clean instrument is a happy instrument!

This video shows a VERY thorough way to clean your instrument. He also shows how to polish the instrument. This is great but not necessary.

IMPORTANT:

1) Don't put the valves in the bath.

2) Use lukewarm water. Do not use hot or cold water.

3) Set a towel in the bottom of the bath to give the instruments parts something soft to sit on.

4) It can be difficult to get water out of the rotor valve if you have a trombone with an F attachment. Ask Lucas Hauser what happened when I blew the water out of his bass trombone. If you don't want to deal with that, then don't put that part of the trombone in the bath.

Warm up!

To get the most out of your practicing, you have to do a good warm up. You are using muscles just like an athlete, and these warm ups help you stretch the muscles in your face and get your air moving.  These are designed specifically for your instrument and are a great way to start your practice session!
