The Transition Day has been arranged for Thursday 3rd July 2025 and will be a whole day event taking place at the academy from 8.20am to 2.45pm.
We want to provide a positive event that would allow pupils to experience a day in their new secondary setting so they feel more familiar with the building and staff in September. Students will:
Take part in two 55 minute lessons across a range of subjects
Meet some the subject teachers
Attend an assembly with the Principal
Learn the structures and expectations of the Academy.
Meet their College peers.
Build confidence in navigating a timetable and site.
Participate in College Competitions.
Please see attached below: the timetable for Transition day on Thursday 3rd July 2025
Our Transition Welcome Evening for parents/ carers will be held on Thursday 3rd July 2025 from 6:00pm-7:30pm. This is an informative evening within which the Principal will share her vision for the Academy and talk through the expectations, systems and structures of daily life at the Academy.
During this evening you will be provided with our Parent Student Handbook with links to all the relevant policies. We will share with you which College your child is in this evening to ensure that you can order the correct tie by the deadline of 30th July 2025. We advise ordering your tie as soon as possible after this evening, the rest of your uniform can be ordered at any point prior to this as is generic regardless of their college.
Transitioning to secondary school will inevitably bring a variety of new experiences and sometimes challenges so we want to equip you with the knowledge, skills and resilience so that it is an enjoyable experience, not a daunting one.
We have provided a printable Transition Resource Pack of activities we would like you to complete prior to starting with us. We have designed these to that when you are preparing for your first day with us you feel confident that you have everything you need to make your first day with us both and enjoyable and successful one.
