LAR Colleges

The Collegiate System

Leigh Academy Rainham has 3 Colleges, one based on each floor (see Academy Tour and Maps), which provide a 'human scale' level of pastoral care. A student is attached to a single college for their time at the Academy and the uniform depicts which of the colleges they belong to. This page outlines what you can expect from your College.

Each College has 5 form groups assigned to it across year 7 and 8. Within KS3 students will have all their lessons with peers in their colleges, including their form group, and from year 7-13 there will be intercollegiate competitions which they can take part in. Classrooms for the form Groups are all placed on the floor level of their College, along with their student services team. In 2021 there will be a single student services team for year 7, but as students move up through the school they will be given a pastoral team who are based on their College level.
