Maya Angelou

Maya Angelou was an acclaimed Black American poet, storyteller, activist, and auto biographer from Missouri. Despite experiencing a series of harrowing events in her childhood, she overcame her own fears and anxieties to flourish, developing a broad career that included writing singing, dancing, acting and composing.

The disciplines linked to Angelou College include the Arts and Literature which are situated on the first floor.

Head of College - Mrs Plant

Mrs Plant is an Assistant Principal, the curriculum leader for English and is the Head of Angelou College.

She has a degree in English Literature and Film and is passionate about Shakespearean tragedies. She enjoys reading books, watching films and travelling and will be leading on the English and Drama curriculum studied in lessons and developing our literacy skills in a variety of ways.

Angelou College Uniform

The Angelou college colours are gold. Students will wear the same uniform across the colleges except for the gold founders tie and gold braided blazer.
