We are now accepting parents and children to join us in the Childhood: Environment, Emotions, and Social Engagement (ChEESE) Study at the Department of Psychology of Lehigh University. We are seeking participants to help us better understand the factors that determine how children develop emotional, social, and cognitive skills, as well as how these skills help children adjust to the world around them.
Who is eligible to participate in ChEESE?
We are looking for parents with a child between the ages of six and nine years old. To join the study, at least one parent must be available to accompany the child to our lab in the Chandler Ullmann building at Lehigh University.
What will your visit to ChEESE involve?
During their time at the lab, the parent and child complete a series of short games and activities, which will provide us with insight into the child’s social and emotional development, family and community environment, and upbringing. The parent also completes a survey which contains a series of questionnaires asking about their feelings and behaviors, relationship with the child, parenting behaviors and attitudes, and life events, which takes approximately 1 hour. This study will take place in our lab at Chandler Ullmann and will take roughly 2 hours for your $50 compensation.
The ChEESE Lab
We designed our lab to be playful and engaging to help children feel comfortable and safe. Below are some images of our research facility.
