“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
Perfect
We talk about the perfect meal, or the perfect piece of chocolate, or a perfect moment as we hope that we will someday have a perfect life. Life continues to present struggles that get in the way of that perfection though. And that is the story of Christmas: In a world that is full of problems, God sent His Son to live here to experience the problems and pain and provide a way for us to have a perfect life. We pray that you trust in the God who brings you the peace and joy of living with Him for a perfect eternity.
Anthony is a perfect 18 and a senior at Winter Springs High School. He keeps his schedule busy with AP courses, Newspaper, Photography and Programming and finished his final Cross Country season. A mission trip to West Virginia this summer was another good experience.
Weekends are spent around St. Luke's as he runs AV for worship, serves on the Youth Leadership Team and helps lead music for youth with his guitar. One college acceptance so far as he waits for another!
Natalie is a perfect 20 and in her third and final year at Concordia Seward. She will graduate in the spring with a mathematics degree. She stays busy with tutoring and working at Walmart in between the fun of studying.
She has enjoyed being able to visit with Aunt Christy and family in Iowa and see Granny and Poppy. Boyfriend Matt was able to visit her in Seward this fall and we enjoy having him around.
Jacob found the perfect match and married Mallory in September. We enjoyed a fantastic wedding weekend with friends and family and learned how they have shared their faith in that place.
Jacob is now teaching at Lafeyette High School in Oxford and will complete the Mississippi Teacher Corps program and his Master’s Degree in Secondary Education. Mallory graduated from Ole Miss and is working on her Master's Degree as well this year.
Becky is a perfect 50 and enjoying her work at Trinity Lutheran School in downtown Orlando. Steve is enjoying his administrative position at St. Luke’s and all that goes with it.
We continue to work with the Children of Love Foundation in La Paz Honduras. We have been blessed to travel there again this year and serve in leadership roles. The Lord continues to teach us so much as we work with the children, see this culture and realize how He works through each and every situation to bring people to the knowledge of their Savior.
Our parents have had some health struggles this year. Steve's dad suffered a stroke in March and lost the use of his right side. He and Mom moved to the Lutheran Haven this summer where Dad continues his physical therapy and Mom participates in all kinds of Haven activities.
Becky's dad is undergoing Chemo for lung cancer and her mom has struggled with her back. They still live in Marion where they were able to celebrate Dad's 80th birthday in November. Becky and I thank the Lord for parents who taught us about our perfect Savior.
