Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
Hope and Joy. It’s an amazing thing that the Lord can continue to bring us exactly what we need in life. Every year, all the struggles of our lives pull us in new and different directions. But as I worship and as I read and talk to other Christians, the Lord continues to give me all I need to move forward in the hope and joy of His eternal salvation. I pray that He continues to fill you with all joy and peace in believing.
Anthony is now 17 and a junior at Winter Springs High School. He enjoys (?) running Cross Country, taking and editing photos, serving on the youth leadership team, and just hanging out.
He is working as an AV tech for our worship services at St. Luke’s which keeps a little money moving into the bank account. :)
Natalie is in her second year at Concordia Seward. (Several profs have noted how many Lehenbauer, Barz, Rempfer, … children attend there to support CUNE. :) )
She is majoring in Secondary Education with a major in mathematics so if any of you are near Lutheran high schools who will need a great math teacher in January of 2016…..
Jacob graduated with his degree in mathematics from the University of Florida in May. He then joined the Mississippi Teacher Corps program. For the next two years, he is teaching high school algebra, geometry, .. in Marks, MS while getting his Master’s Degree in Secondary Education. His girlfriend, Mallory, is a senior this year at Ole Miss as well so they are able to enjoy time together after living a couple states apart the last few years.
After a year of working in a tutoring/enrichment center, Becky is now working at Trinity Lutheran School in downtown Orlando. Still a part time role, she works with the morning care program and working with a 2nd grader who has special needs. I am enjoying my administrative position at St. Luke’s as the church continues to grow. We are in the campaign and design portion of new youth, adult education and athletic space.
As the house has been emptier, we have tried to make sure Anthony has company by hosting Korean students and student teachers. Four Korean students and four student teachers and later we are waiting for another group to come this January. It has been fun to have them all here.
Our other adventure is continuing to work with the Children of Love Foundation in La Paz Honduras. We have come to love the children there and watch them grow for the last six years. It is hard to see some come and go from homes that struggle in a tough Honduran culture. The foundation continues to be a blessing at helping the children learn to study and be healthy. The exciting news is that we are in the process of calling the first Lutheran pastor to Honduras in many years. If all goes well, we pray that the Lutheran church can begin growing through all of Honduras.
