IMPORTANT NOTE: All trips are available this year. Field Trips Sign-Up begins on August 21, 2025 at 7:00 AM. Online forms will all accept entries beginning that date and continuously after. We will prioritize trips according to priority schools (those who were not served in the last three years) and then by registration requests. Our Slough Wet Walk trip is limited in number to about 200 max per school.
In order to serve the most schools, you are limited to one trip per grade level.

The physical and behavioral adaptations of birds are observed to determine the “jobs”for which they are best suited. Common sightings include a large variety of water birds and shorebirds during the winter months, as well as raccoons, alligators, marsh rabbits and occasionally otters and bobcats. Slough Wet Walk Adventure

Students will learn about the importance of the ecosystem services this unique environment provides on this standards-aligned educational journey through Six-Mile Cypress Slough. One of the most immersive experiences, literally and figuratively, offered in the state. Classes experience this environment in a way few others ever will. Follow one of our expert staff on a trip to Fort Myers' very own material recovery facility. Learn how recycling makes a difference, and more than that, learn how recycling works! Students will be able to see just how so many materials can be sorted before they are properly recycled. They will also discover why recycling materials is so important to a healthy natural environment. Finally students will learn what is and isn't recyclable.
