Susie has been honored to revive the EE program which has been world renowned and recognized by many awards. She has a B.S. in Zoology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and a M.A. in Science Education with a specialization in Marine and Aquatic Science from The Ohio State University. She has been teaching in Lee County since 1991. She was most recently the Science Resource Teacher at Littleton Elementary for ten years, where she was a Golden Apple Finalist seven times, and won many grants to support gardens and science programs. She has taught kindergarten through college over her career. Prior to teaching she was a zookeeper at the Cincinnati Zoo and a dolphin trainer at Kings Island, Ohio. She continues to work with the Sea Scouts of Cape Coral and the Volunteer Scientific Research Dive Team citizen science group.She is also an amateur beekeeper.

Elizabeth is the Helping Teacher for Recycling and the Recycling Initiative in our schools. She has teamed up with the Lee County School District and Lee County Solid Waste to teach the students of Lee County and help make Southwest Florida a Greener Community. She has been part of our summer STEM camps at Dunbar High and FSW for two years as well as Lead Camp Counselor at the Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium for the last three summers. Elizabeth graduated from Riverdale High School where she was a member of the FFA and went on to work in the local government utility for seventeen and a half years. Elizabeth has been involved with Boy Scouts of America for 18 years, and the local 4H program for 7 years.
She partners with Keep Lee County Beautiful to coordinate efforts.

John Bailey, is excited about the new partnership with J.N. Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge as an Environmental Education Resource Teacher, with the Curriculum & Instructional Innovation Department of Lee County School District. John graduated with honors from Barry University, with a degree in Management with an emphasis on recreational tourism. He went on to pursue a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and has been a lifelong naturalist. John also is an active scuba diver and actively working with the Sea Scouts and continues to enjoy researching with the Volunteer Scientific Research Dive Team citizen science group and sharing adventures and his love of the coastal ecosystems with everyone he meets.
Rounding out the EE Team are EE Helping Teachers Bruce Gifford and Tate Williams, and EE Field Event Instructor Emily Rubenstein! All of them are multi-talented and experienced environmental explorers. We are so grateful to have them on our team!
