We used the book Hatchet for this STEM Challenge. We purchased this challenge through a TPT creator by the name of Meredith Anderson. We tweaked it to meet our needs and added extension activities involving multiple standards.

Performance Task 1: Design and create a "lean-to" shelter. (DOK Level 3)

Performance Task 2: Write a reflection in the form of a short constructed response. What are the advantages and disadvantages of a lean-to shelter? Analyze and critique one flaw and one strength of your design. (DOK Level 4)
