Why we use Learning Targets in every classroom:
The purpose of Learning Targets is to introduce students to domain specific vocabulary and to give them ownership over what they are learning.
Language of the standards (that is reinforced in all subject areas) fosters student comprehension and retention. It provides clarity in the learning process.
In addition it allows students to analyze their own learning and evaluate the next steps in their learning process (self-differentiation).
According to the 2022 Georgia Milestones results, vocabulary acquisition was the highest performing domain in 6th grade. In fact, the domain percentage was higher than the system, RESA, and the state.
61% of students were proficient and/or distinguished!
Team Force is comprised of the following:
English Language Learners
Students with Disabilities (inclusion)
Tier 1 (general education) students
STEM students (a mixture of gifted and high performing students). All 6th grade teams have students who are labeled gifted.

Math - 60% Prof and Distinguished
Reading- on or above grade level - 64%
SWD - 50% of students showed growth
