Welcome to Valley View's Spring Bio Blitz!

​As part of an All School Enrichment initiative, you and your children have been invited to share in a citizen science project: Valley View Spring Bio Blitz.

Students have been encouraged to take time outdoors, if at all possible, and record their encounters with other living organisms. Our goal is to find as many species as possible this 2020 spring season. This would then be shared with scientific repositories to aid in contributing to scientific data lists.

To participate in this fun citizen science project follow the steps below:

Watch an introductory video

1. Submit an observation (there are no limits to the number of living things you can observe) Submit a new form for each new observation.
2. Check to see what other Valley View students and staff have observed on Google Earth.
3. Optional activities:
   1. Students can participate in a number of fun and creative activities from the following choice boards and share their completed activities via Flipgrid.
      1. Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades
      2. 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades
   2. Parents can download the Seek app by iNaturalist to ‘point and seek’ out what living organisms have just been observed.
