5th Grade Guitar

Welcome to 5th Grade Guitar Class!

Thanks to the supply of guitars Woodglen School has amassed, I am excited to say that my section of 5th Grade General Music will be focused on learning musical concepts through playing guitar! Students will learn the basics of music reading, as well as how to read standard guitar tablature notation, while having a blast playing fun songs as a group. Additionally, students will learn about the history of the guitar and notable musicians who revolutionized the instrument.

Students are not required to purchase anything for this class: all guitars, strings, picks, and music are provided by the school for them to use. Students are also not required to practice outside of my class, as the school does not have enough guitar cases to allow them to travel safely between school and home. All I ask of them is to respect the instruments, and to put forth their best effort every time we play.
