Our Framework for the Future & Blueprint for Success

Overview

Your Lamont School Board and Superintendent are committed to aligning school programs with the world we live in thereby developing learners who will become engaged and productive citizens. To help us in this work, we partnered with a value aligned, non profit organization, Learner-Centered Collaborative (LCC) to support the design of the Lamont Framework for the Future and Blueprint for Success.

This partnership is helping us design the Lamont Learner Profile which defines the unique knowledge, skills and dispositions that are important to our community. In addition, we crafted our Lamont Learning Model that supports our schools and educators in creating the types of experiences that will ensure our students are college, career, and life prepared graduates. Now that we know what we are aspiring to, we are creating a 3-5 year strategic plan that will ensure we can accomplish what we have defined as essential.

The first step in this process started with listening. When we listen, we build empathy and when we better understand our community’s experience we can better design an environment that ensures success for all. LCC facilitated a variety of forums to help the community describe what is possible in education and for their future. Participants were able to:

These sessions were designed to be collaborative; helping to capture a broad range of voice and experience. In addition feedback was collected through a variety of surveys. All of these insights and ideas supported the LESD Guiding Coalition (a team of students, educators, administrators, and community leaders) to begin drafting the Lamont Framework.

Our Framework for the Future was designed in 3 parts.

Part 1 was defining whole-learner outcomes. This is called the "Learner Profile". Find the final version of the Lamont Learner Profile here.

Why do we need a learner profile?

Why do we need a learning model

The Learning Model establishes the learning experiences to achieve your whole-child outcomes. It provides a catalyst to align systems, processes, and structures necessary to support students in developing and demonstrating the outcomes. Ultimately, it’s the framework for pedagogical change and provides the fence posts for what teaching and learning should look like.
