RealCare Baby Project
The RealCare Baby simulator is a highly advanced doll that mimics the behavior of a real infant requiring feeding, burping, diaper changing, and proper handling. This project aims to provide students with a realistic experience of infant care, helping them understand the responsibilities and challenges of parenthood.
Students will be responsible for the simulator for a weekend, working with the choice of working individually or in pairs to ensure round-the-clock care. Students may choose to “co-parent” with another student in the class to share the responsibility of caring for the baby. Babies will need to be picked up no later than 3:20 PM on the Friday of the students’ assigned weekend. Students will receive bracelets with the sensor attached. Babies must be returned Monday morning by 8:30 am to Ms. Wooldridge in 12A.
There is an app that can be downloaded on iOS and Android phones that provides videos and instructions for caring for and soothing the baby. The app is free to download.
