Meet the Teacher
Ms. Wooldridge has been a teacher at Westlake HS since the 2012-2013 school year. She started her teaching career as a Social Science teacher teaching U.S. History, World History, Psychology, and Sociology. She had the privilege of teaching in the former Westlake Digital Media Academy, a CTE program at Westlake. Teaching in this program she discovered the real-world connections that a CTE program can offer students. She planned field trips, social events, and guest speakers, and collaborated with teachers across departments. When the program transitioned away from the Academy model, Ms. Wooldridge was inspired to pursue her own CTE Pathway.
In 2016, Ms. Wooldridge earned her M.A. in Educational Leadership from California Lutheran University's Graduate School of Education. In 2019, a mentor from CLU hired her as an adjunct faculty member in CLU's teacher preparation program. Currently, she teaches two courses at CLU: Assessments in a Diverse Classroom & Advanced Teaching Methods in the Social Sciences. Mentoring beginner teachers has brought a lot of joy and fulfillment to her career in teaching.
Ms. Wooldridge combined her two passions, CTE and Education, into a new program - the Future Educators' Pathway. In this program, she hopes to provide students with the skills and opportunities to begin a successful journey to become the next generation of educators.
She currently teaches Child Development and Foundations of Education. Next year, she will add the Advanced Teaching Practices Honors and the Teaching Internship courses.
