Destination Imagination Regional Training Coordinator
My techy husband was recruited to Austin during the tech boom of 1996 and I joined him to recruit finance candidates in this exciting, growing, family-friendly city. Eventually I gave up recruiting to focus on my boys, both born in the early 2000's.
With first grade looming, we choose to move to Steiner Ranch as Leander had the only gifted program (QUEST) which focused on creativity and the "whole child" instead of just academics, and I have never looked back. Steiner Ranch Elementary led me to me to 10 joyous years of managing Destination Imagination teams. Over the years, that DI team slowly became skillful communicators and collaborators and together we learned the immense power of risk-taking. As my children started looking at colleges, I discovered that my heart was still in QUEST... so I jumped into teaching QUEST in the middle of a pandemic. My passion for gifted education and the gifted students that I get to work with are a highlight of my life. Drop by anytime that you want to talk about our Leander's QUEST program, Gifted education theories, Leander's Graduation Profile or Destination Imagination.
Weekends you may run across me on Steiner Ranch hiking trail, taking improv or dance classes, enjoying local community theater or bands, watching Shakespeare live (anywhere!), putting on a HoT Destination Imagination training event, or curled up with a good book learning about Gifted kids.

This year I will continue to focus on obtaining my National Board teaching certification in Gifted Education. This means that I am actively focusing on using what I have already learned in this journey to ensure that your children receive a top quality education. Thank you for supporting me on this challenging path!
