Optional Extension Activities  

• Talk to your child about the difference between climate and weather.  Biomes are differentiated by 1) Living items (plants and animals) 2) Non-living items and 3)Climate (rainfall and temperature). 

• When watching a show with your child, identify the name of the biome that the show appears to be taking place in.  (Desert, Rain Forest, Ocean, etc)

• Once your child has identified the biome they will be researching, ask them to share with you something they found interesting in their research. Look up pictures of the biome and talk about what you see in the pictures.
