Elective Course Descriptions

All 6th grade students must select one choice for a Fine Arts Elective from the following:

• Band (year-long course) - Band Video,

• Choir (year-long course) - Choir Video , or

• Elective Wheel (1 semester Art/1 semester Theatre)

  • Art Video

  • Theatre Arts Video

All 6th grade students must select one choice for a Physical Education (PE) Elective from the following:

• Life Fitness/Pre-Athletics (Girls) - year long

• Life Fitness/Pre-Athletics (Boys) - year long

• Dance & Life Fitness/Pre-Athletics (one semester of each)

All 6th grade students are automatically enrolled in one Academic Elective. Academic Electives are problem/project-based courses, similar in nature, and are designed to develop in students their critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication skills.

Students will also select one free-choice elective. They can choose between Beginning Band, Choir, or the Elective Wheel ( 1 semester Art/1 semester Theatre).
