Next Year's 6th Grade     Counselor & Assistant Principal

My name is Traci Donovan, and I am super excited to be your counselor here at HMS! One of my favorite things about being here is watching you learn and helping you grow during these important middle school years. This will be my 6th year as a school counselor. Before this, I spent about 10 years helping new teachers and taught high school students for 8 years. I have a family too! I live with my husband, and we have 3 kids. My two sons have already graduated from high school, and my daughter will graduate from HMS this year to head to VRHS. When I’m not spending time with middle schoolers or taking my daughter to soccer practice, I love to work out, read books, watch action and comedy movies, and cheer for Austin FC at their games! I can’t wait to welcome you to middle school, and I look forward to being on this journey with you!

My name is Alexandra McStay, and I am so excited to be your Assistant Principal at HMS!  My job is to serve and care for ALL students, and I look forward to working with each of you.  This year will be my fourth as an Assistant Principal.  Before becoming an AP, I was a teacher here at HMS and at Whitestone Elementary in the Dual Language Program. I have also taught in the Caribbean where I grew up!  In my free time, I like to garden, ride horses, cook, and hang out with my kids who are in College and High School.  I can't wait to start this middle school journey with you! Go Hawks!!
