EXCUSED Absences
Excused absences are not viewed as days a student is entitled to take. Students are required to attend at least 90 percent of the days the class is offered. The student will be required to make up excessive excused absences.
Examples of an Excused Absence
Student Illness
Funeral/Memorial
Weather or road conditions that make travel dangerous as determined by LISD
The following absence examples can be excused with a parent note; however, can be considered a "State Approved Non-Absence/Absence" if the proper documentation is provided. A "State Approved Non-Absence/Absence" is one for which the attendance code is equivalent to present and students do not accumulate hours. It is always best to turn in proper documentation for these types of absences.
