What is TSI
TSI stands for Texas Success Initiative and is the standard by which Texas public post-secondary institutions evaluate a student's college readiness in English and math. In a nutshell, students must meet college readiness standards in order to take college-level classes. This can be done through the SAT, ACT, and/or TSI Assessment (specific score info is listed below). Students who do not meet college readiness standards will use their TSI scores for placement in the appropriate developmental course(s).
Glenn offers several TSI testing opportunities on campus throughout the school year - we highly encourage students to take advantage!

TSI FAQs
Q: Is the TSI required for High School graduation?
A: No. The TSI is not required to graduate from high school. The TSI is a college placement exam. If students do not submit SAT or ACT scores when applying to colleges in Texas, the admitting post-secondary institution requires proof of academic readiness. The TSI measures student academic readiness for college level work.
Q: How many times can I take the TSI?
A: Students may take the TSI as many times as they need to earn a score that meets the benchmark required by colleges to register for classes.
Q: I plan on taking a year off from school, why should I take the TSI during High School?
A: TSI scores are good for 5 years. Like any assessment, it is easier to perform well while you are learning/engaging/studying the material you are tested over. The TSI will not get easier if you wait to take it.
Q: How do I send my scores to schools?
A: Students are sent a copy of their score report immediately after the test. The scores are sent to the email address the student entered on their personal information page before starting the TSI test. If a student is not able to access the score report from the email, they may request a copy of any TSI test taken at GHS by emailing anne.kennedy@leanderisd.org and requesting the score report.
Q: I have taken the TSI test multiple times, but cannot meet the benchmark score. What does this mean for college classes?
A: Students may still take college classes, but may be limited to a certain set of courses until college readiness is demonstrated by the student.
