What is Dual Credit?
Dual Credit is a program that allows high school students to take college courses at Austin Community College. Through a partnership between Leander ISD and ACC, the tuition is waived! Student's are responsible for any course fees and books. Currently, there is no limit on the number of courses a dual credit student can take. Not only can students get a head start on earning college credits, but many of the courses count for high school credit as well (or what we refer to as dual credit).
Prospective ACC dual credit students need to first meet with your alpha counselor to decide if ACC is the best fit for you. Once you've made that decision and completed the first four enrollment steps, you'll need to meet with the campus Transition Coordinator, Mrs. Kennedy.
Who can take Dual Credit course?
Students who have completed the 8th grade and who have met the TSI standard may take Dual Credit courses. The qualifying test scores are listed to the right.

Can we meet to get more information?
YES! It is important that you gather all the information you can to make the best decision for you! This is your academic journey and it can be tailored to fit your needs.
STUDENTS - You are welcome to make an appointment to meet with the Transition Coordinator at any time. Use the link Schedule an appointment with Mrs. Kennedy
PARENTS/GUARDIANS - I am very happy to meet with parents. However, I will ONLY meet with parents regarding dual credit when the student is present. These are college classes and the student needs to be the driver for this part of the journey. Parents/Guardians may also use the link to Schedule an appointment with Mrs. Kennedy
