The world's greatest super theif has struck again! Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and Google have created an interactive quiz that takes your students across the globe to find clues and solve the mystery of the Crown Jewels caper.
Welcome to the SOS Top Ten series. In this edition, some ways to use Spotlight on Strategies for promoting global citizenship are highlighted.
According to the Center for Global Education, globally competent students have the knowledge and skills to investigate the world, recognize perspectives, communicate ideas, and take action. The idea of global competence articulates the knowledge and skills students need in the 21st century.
Many of the instructional ideas presented in the SOS series provide students with opportunities to explore these domains. Some of our favorites are listed below.

A collaborative effort to develop a one-stop place that showcases best practice and clear explanations of some of the big ideas and subject areas in the PYP!
Canadian artist Von Wong has created a huge plastic sculpture made from reclaimed plastic, including 168,037 straws.
The sculpture was used to raise awareness about single-use plastic pollution and the impact it’s having on the world’s oceans, with scientists predicting there will be more plastic than fish in the sea by 2050.
