Digital SAT v. Old SAT v. ACT
How do I know if i'll get in?
There are several different ways you can be admitted to a school:
Top 10% Rule - in the state of Texas, students in the top 10% of their class are guaranteed admissions into all state-funded schools. (Please note: students do still have to complete an application for admissions.)
Assured Admissions - not in the top 10%? That's ok! Most schools still set a standard by which students can be automatically admitted. This standard varies by school, but usually takes into account GPA, rank, and SAT/ACT scores.
Holistic Review - don't meet assured admissions standards? That's ok too! Schools will take into account factors outside of academic performance such as essays, leadership positions, extracurricular activities, and extenuating circumstances.
