The JROTC mission is “To motivate young people to be better citizens.” While the program benefits from the Army's world-class leadership education and training programs, there is no military obligation for participating in JROTC. The program is designed to help all students improve their high school performance and to prepare for meaningful opportunities following graduation. JROTC helps students to improve their leadership abilities, self-discipline, sense of teamwork, organization and study skills, ability to communicate, knowledge of healthy lifestyles, and sense of service.
Students enrolled in JROTC Curriculum are required to wear a Cadet Class-A uniform and a Cadet physical fitness T-shirt weekly. These are provided by the school and must be properly maintained by the student. Students are required to participate in physical fitness activity as well as support community service projects throughout the academic year.
As enrolled Cadets, students are offered the opportunity to participate on numerous competitive teams to include: Raiders, Color Guard, JLAB, Cadet Fitness Challenge team and Cyber-Start. In future years the Falcon Battalion will seek to establish Air Rifle, Archery and Drone teams. Short travel funded by the JROTC program will be required as a member of a Falcon Battalion competitive team.
