The knowledge and skills you have acquired throughout PLTW Engineering come together in Engineering Design and Development as you will identify a problem and then research, design, and test a solution, ultimately presenting your solution to a panel of engineers.
You will apply the professional skills that you have developed to document a design process to standards, completing Engineering Design and Development ready to take on any post-secondary program or career.
To effectively participate in EDD, you are required to have taken and passed both IED and POE, and are encouraged to take one of the PLTW specialty courses. In addition to the curriculum stated above, you will employ engineering and scientific concepts to solve engineering problems. You will develop problem-solving skills and apply your knowledge of research and design to create solutions to various challenges that increase in difficulty throughout the course. You will also learn how to document your work, and communicate your solutions to your peers and members of the professional community.
