I was born in Greenville, SC and attended Travelers Rest High School, from which I graduated in 2005. I still live in Greenville with my wife, Jocelyn and two dogs: Juneau and Charlie. I am a 2011 graduate of Clemson University, where I studied Science Teaching with a concentration in physical sciences. After graduating, I spent a year working on a Master's Degree at Clemson before going to Seneca High School to teach chemistry for 2 years before joining the CHS staff in 2014.
I completed my Master's degree at Clemson in the summer of 2014, as well as my Gifted and Talented endorsement. Since then, I have spent 2 to 4 weeks each summer completing Project Lead the Way certifications for all 5 of the courses in our Engineering program. I am also certified to teach AP Environmental Science for the first time in the 2020-2021 school year.
Science and engineering are passions of mine, and are something that I am always interested to learn more about. I enjoy learning things, and I love having the opportunity to pass my knowledge on to students who can do great things. In addition to teaching, I coach the Varsity Boys soccer team and the 2020 State Champion VEX Robotics team at CHS, serve as a tutor for Red Devil athletes, and mentor the CHS Environmental Club. In what little free time I have these days, I enjoy playing and watching sports, messing around in my garage workshop, hiking and being outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.
