• Access & Log In:

  • STUDENTS go to your LCPS GO account, select Naviance and log in using Clever/Single Sign On

  • PARENTS go to https://student.naviance.com/lightridgehs

• Main Navigation: There are four primary areas of navigation; Colleges, Careers, About Me and My Planner.

FIND YOUR FIT

• SuperMatch: By answering a few questions, a list of colleges matching your criteria will then be generated. You can then “favorite” the ones of interest and they will move to your Colleges I am Thinking About

• College Match: See and quickly favorite the other schools that students are applying to when they have also applied to a school from your favorites list. Additionally, check out other colleges that have accepted students with stats like your own.

• College Events: Browse for and sign up for college events

• Scattergrams: A scattergram is a graph used to help you analyze how you fit in with other students from your high school who have been accepted, waitlisted, or denied admittance to a school based on GPA and test scores.

• Advanced College Search: Using multiple categories, answer questions to identify colleges that match your interests.

• College Lookup: Lookup and favorite school(s) by multiple filters including name, country, state, or college group. Easily favorite using the heart symbol next to the college.

RESEARCH COLLEGES

• Colleges I am Thinking About: This is a list of schools that you have favorited and identified as prospective schools of interest.

  • • You can add as many colleges as you like. This is your page to learn more about a school and understand whether you have a good chance of being accepted.

    • MORE link takes you to information about that school and in particular the Scattergram:

      • • At the top, Naviance has added links for virtual tours or events if the college has them.

        • Admissions: Learn how many students from your school applied, were accepted and enrolled at the school.

        • You can also see app deadlines, app fee and view the Scattergram which shows YOU how your GPA and test scores compare to others who applied and whether they were accepted from your high school.

        • Student Life: Learn how far away the school is from Aldie, ethnicity, school size and what percent of students live on campus.

        • Studies: Graduation rates, acceptance rates and programs of study offered by the school.

        • Overview & Costs: General information about the school and estimated costs.

• College Compare: Add schools to compare the average GPA and test scores of students from your high school that have been accepted to that college over a span of time.

• College Resources: List of external web resources that may be valuable to your college search process. Sections include Colleges & Careers, Financial Aid, Test Preparation, College Athletics, and Military.

• Acceptance History: An alphabetical list of colleges where someone from your school has been accepted and/or enrolled over a time span.

• Enrichment Programs: Locate enrichment programs provided by your school to view extracurricular opportunities in your community.

• College Maps: View an interactive map of schools based on a list of different pre-defined criteria. For example, you can see a map of the colleges from your Colleges I’m Thinking About list. Some other map categories include Top 20 most popular colleges where our students applied, colleges where our students are attending, 5-year combined BA/MBA, and more.

APPLY TO COLLEGES

• Colleges I Am Applying To: This is a list of schools to which you have decided to apply. Colleges can be added to the Colleges I’m Applying To list in two different ways: From the Colleges I’m Applying To list OR from the Colleges I’m Thinking About list.

  • • Only seniors can add schools to this page.

    • On this page seniors will add the schools where they are applying and can track the application progress.

    • It is also critical to “match” your Common App to Naviance on this page if applying to any schools using the Common App. You must first complete a portion of the Common App, including the FERPA waiver before you will be able to complete the match process (see video below).

• Letters of Recommendation: Request new and keep track of letter of recommendation request (see video below).

• Test Scores: View and add key test scores. Scores are uploaded from Phoenix.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND MONEY

Find and Track Scholarships Reference Guide

• Scholarships I'm Applying To: Use the Scholarships I’m Applying To as a way to keep a list of scholarships you have applied to along with the award value. You can use the scholarship list and matches to save items here or enter the scholarships manually. This will make filling out your end of the year senior survey SUPER easy!

• Scholarship List: A list of potentially relevant scholarships that you can review and add to your applications list.

• Scholarship Match: This list shows scholarships that may be a suitable match for you based on the requirements such as gender, ethnicity, GPA, etc. If your school did not did not enter any qualifications for a scholarship, the matching criteria will be labeled as No Restrictions Found.

• National Scholarship Search: An external site hosted by Sallie Mae that provides a list of potential scholarship matches based on your personal criteria from Naviance Student. If you want to change information that is driving your matches, use the Edit Profile tab to make any updates. You can use this site to create a set of Favorites (separate from those in Naviance Student).

COLLEGE VISITS

When colleges visit our high school, they are coming to meet with you! To sign up for a college visit:

• Log in to Naviance Student.

• Navigate to Colleges > Research Colleges > College Visits or go to Colleges Home and find the College Visits card.

• Click Sign Up to sign up.

• Click the Sign Me Up button.

• Print the confirmation as your pass to show your teacher to get out of class.
