Pick a language that interests you.
Don’t be afraid to try something different.
Aim to go as far as you can in a language-even all the way to AP.
Take more than one language the more languages you know, the easier it is to learn a new one.

German is often used in the business world, and many companies have offices or headquarters in Germany.

Why take Latin?
Latin words all around us every day - almost 50% of English words come from Latin!
Latin is the root language for Spanish, French, Portuguese and Italian. Learning Latin makes it easier to quickly learn these other languages.
Studying Latin has been shown to help scores on standardized tests and the SAT.
Latin is the core language of careers in science, medicine, and law.
Studying Latin introduces you to the history, culture, and mythology of the Romans and Greeks!

Spanish is the official language in 21 countries.
Spanish is the second most used language in the United States, so students do not need to travel in order to find the language useful! However, knowing Spanish will make traveling to some amazing destinations easier.
