Technology Frameworks

Technology Frameworks are intended to guide the thinking, planning, and implementation of instructional technology. This site outlines numerous frameworks that will assist teachers with integrating technology into their classrooms. Please see your IFT if you have any questions.

Universal Design for Learning

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) promotes student voice and choice, flexible learning environments, and instruction that accommodates various learning styles. More information about UDL can be found here

TPACK

Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) is a theory explaining the background knowledge teachers need to effectively integrate instructional technology. More information about TPACK can be found here.

TIPC

The Technology Integration Planning Cycle (TIPC) was derived from TPACK and offers teachers  a linear set of considerations when planning to integrate technology into their instruction. More information about the TIPC can be found here.

SAMR

The SAMR model categorizes four levels of technology integration including Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, and Redefinition. Each category defines a different level of depth related to reshaping instructional practices. More information about SAMR can be found here.

The T3 Framework

The T3 Framework describes three phases of technology integration and measures the impact of teaching and learning with technology. More information about the T3 framework can be found here.
