We were happy to act as Guiding Lights, leading new and returning students to their classrooms after more than a year out of the building. We got to "Meet the Teacher Day" early so we could know just what to do and lead the students and their parents with confidence. We were proud to wear our new tee-shirts with the brand new logo. Everyone was nervous and excited!
In November it was "Bring Your Delegate to School Day", so we were lucky enough to host Delegate Suhas Supramanyam from the 87th District of Virginia. The Little Lights game him a tour and sat down with him to ask questions and share a little about Leader in Me.
Our Grades 3-5 Leader Day was virtual because we weren't having in-person events just yet. We were well-prepared and made ourselves and our school proud!
Before we knew it, it was time to hold interviews for our newest 4th grade Little Lights. The competition was fierce but we picked the best students for the job.
Welcome to:
Eli A., Kushal A., Ishnoor B., Aishu K., Advik M., Srinidhi P., and Shrita P!
Congratulations!
Our K-2 Leader Day was in person! Our guests joined us in the multipurpose room. We explained the basics and introduced videos of a school tour, morning meetings, and more. Students from each grade level came in and shared their Leadership Binders and told our guests about the habits and how we live them. It was an awesome day!
The second year of Little Lights brought big changes! 4th Graders were added to the Student Lighthouse Team and we had to do everything virtually!
Not gonna lie--it took a little longer for the synergy to take hold, but we have grit and made it happen!
