Schoolwide Events
Hundreds of Creighton’s Corner families and staff members gathered on the soccer field on May 20 for a CCE PTA End-of-the-Year Community Picnic! Families enjoyed gathering together and students had fun playing sports, “chalking the walk” with sidewalk chalk and spending time with their teachers. We are thankful to The PTA for providing a sweet dessert to all picnic attendees!
On February 4, 2022, the External Leadership Events Team partnered with the School-Wide Goal Achievement Team to celebrate CCE students' reading accomplishments this year, by having a school-wide reading camp-out. Students came to school dressed in pj's equipped with flashlights, stuffed animals, and their favorite book. For 30 minutes, students got cozy with their books and were able to read uninterrupted. This event was deemed a success by both teachers and students alike and will most definitely be added to the calendar of events next year!
Little Lights in Action
This past October 2021, the CCE Little Lights put their leadership skills to good use by recording a video of themselves dancing to the Monster Mash. Teachers shared the video with their students throughout the day on October 28th, allowing students to follow the steps or come up with their own groovy moves. This was a treat for both students and teachers and it has quickly become a much loved annual CCE fall tradition.
In February 2021, we had our first annual CCE Trivia night! We had an overwhelming amount of students who wanted to participate in planning, creating, and hosting this event. Students created a variety of virtual trivia games for students across all grade levels such as Kahoot, Scavenger Hunts & Name That Song. We know this will now be an annual event!
October 2021
The CCE Little Lights created a school wide Monster Mash video that was shown as a school wide event.
The Little Lights team met and the students decided which roles they wanted to take on for the event. Some students created tutorial videos, where they taught the moves of the dance step by step. Other students danced the choreography in videos that they created. After the videos were created, a different group of students took all of the tutorial and choreography videos and edited them into one video using the program WeVideo. Students and families had a blast!!!
International Week!
Members of the EL team met with the Little Lights during their weekly meetings. The students planned how to best promote International Week at Creighton's Corner. They reviewed a script and made modifications that best supported their personal voice. During the second meeting, they each created a google slides that they would use to showcase suggestions to generate ideas for the school body. At the conclusion of their meeting, they recorded promotional commercials that were displayed each morning during the Morning News show.
CCE COMMUNITY CRAFTS -
After School Fun in our Community!
During the 2020-2021 school year, students in our community enjoyed participating in fun virtual after school crafts with our staff and student leaders. One of Our students' favorite CCE Community Crafts event was creating "Heartprints" for their loved ones in February!
In early April, our CCE Community Crafts event was "Flower Power Planting"! CCE Students decorated flower pots and planted pansies with their siblings and neighbors.
Our student leaders have come up with some great ideas for future community events such as tie-dying face masks and creating slime this spring!

Classroom Events
What a better way to show leadership than to parade around to school sharing your accomplishments? This kindergarten class celebrated the end of their first reading unit by making headbands and walking around the halls of CCE to share books they had read during the first quarter. Not only were the teachers and staff proud, but the entire school celebrated them by making signs and cheering for them as they proudly walked the hallways! It was a parade they we will never forget!
There's a new leadership role in a first grade class called "Cheer Leader." This student gets to lead in class cheers after kids share their writing. They also get to do a basketball shot after answering a question correctly for review practice. What a fun way to celebrate accomplishments in the classroom!
