This year during distance learning art, we are going to have a LIVE (synchronous) art lesson together every 2 weeks!
On the other 2 weeks, we will have On Your Own Art (asynchronous) activities, extension learning, other art activities and maybe even some beginning activities before the next live lesson.
Accessing the course
Children can access art instruction through their class Schoology pages by selecting "courses."
Parents can access art instruction information in Schoology by logging into ParentVue and selecting "courses."
Participation is expected!
For Live Lessons, students should be prepared with their art bags that were sent home and a pencil and crayons or colored pencils or markers. White boards will work too!
Please take pictures of student art and share on the slides in their teacher's link in the Turn in Your Art folder on Schoology.

Students have really been doing a fantastic job with distance learning and hybrid. The hybrid students are as excited as I am to be back in the art room! They have been incredibly flexible and resilient with all of the changes over the last year!
Kindergarten our dragons eating tacos have turned out fantastic! Now on to rainbows, rockets, unicorns and popsicles.
First Grade finished up hot dogs and cool cats and we will be moving onto Kandinsky trees, still life with fruit, Lady Liberty and monsters.
Second Grade will be working on reflective cityscapes, picnics, gnomes and colorful animals.
Third Grade is working on Alma Woodsy Thomas abstract works, balloon dogs, Dali animals and alien landscapes.
Fourth Grade will be working on Nevelson sculptures, Illuminated letters, castles and fantastic felines.
Fifth Grade will work on a gargoyle, camping scene, a patterned pineapple and a radial design.

Kindergarten is keeping up the awesome work the first half of the year! We will be working on projects inspired by amazing books, such as fairy and pirate drawings with the Doughnut Fairy, making our own monster after reading the Love Monster, a fun shape animal project with Square Cat and making taco inspired by Dragons Love Tacos.
First Grade has been doing an excellent job with art so far this year! Our next projects will include a heart project, an alphabet soup still life, Klee inspired cats and Kandinsky inspired trees.
Second Grade is have a great time learning and making amazing art! Coming up we will be working on Chinese dragons, painted elephants, birdhouses and outrageous colored animals inspired by Blue Dog.
Third Grade is rocking at art so far! Coming up we are working on Silberzweig Abstract portraits, Op art hearts, Thiebaud tiered cakes, and patterned Great Waves.
Fourth Grade is doing a fantastic job making art so far! We will be working on computer art Japanese Notan designs, cake slices, Klimt patterned trees and illuminated letters.
Fifth Grade keeps on making outstanding art! Upcoming projects include cropped portraits, Crystal City inspired buildings, and an op art cube project.

Third Grade has done a wonderfully with distance learning so far, Hybrid and distance students will keep on learning the same lessons. Coming up patterned goldfish, warm & cool lines, Egyptian Cats, and Silberzweig Selfies.
Fourth Grade has done an outstanding job with distance learning so far, Hybrid and distance students will keep on learning the same lessons. Coming up are warm & cool leaves, op art tubes, snowmen and snowflakes.
Fifth Grade has done a really well with distance learning so far, Hybrid and distance students will keep on learning the same lessons. Coming up space art, succulents, snowmen and sliced cake.
Kindergarten will be welcomed to art! We will make selfies, and learn about each other, we will also learn about the building blocks of art: lines, shapes and colors. We will also explore imagination with Harold and the Purple Crayon.
First Grade will make selfies including things about themselves, draw an owl and their habitat, make fun fall leaves, a scarecrow drawing and explore primary colors with Mondrian.
Second Grade will make selfies including things about themselves, exaggerated fall leaves, we will learn about the traditions and art of Dia de los Muertos, Native American inspired teepee drawings and fun robots!
Third Grade will make selfies including things about themselves, create cave inspired art, a 3D building project, cityscape drawing and also a farm landscape.
Fourth Grade will make selfies including things about themselves, learn about Peter Max and create a cosmic inspired landscape, create collage monsters inspired by Picasso and a fun patterned landscape project.
Fifth Grade will make selfies including things about themselves, global inspired mask drawings, a onomatopoeia word project and a Warm sun/Cool moon project.
