Fifth Grade's

News & Notes

Fifth Grade Parents-

We are almost there! June 11th and 14th are quickly approaching so we wanted to send an email with a few notes/updates.

1- The school will be sending a link for the virtual celebration that will be held June 11th. We believe this link will be sent in the morning but you can watch it at any time. We have had a lot of questions about taking off work, timing, etc. Last year, many families waiting to click the link and watch it in the evening so they could be with their student and other loved ones. If you have to work that day - no stress! The link will be up and ready when you are available. Mr. Theissen had a live meeting last week where he went over details on this. Please feel free to click the link below to listen/watch.

2- June 14th- In person certificate pick up. Please review the flyer below for the time your child’s class is scheduled to come to the school. This will all be held outside with the cars parking around the bus loop. As of now, each student is allowed to bring 2 family members with them to stand on the grass with them. However, if guidelines change, you will be the first to know! The flyer below discusses times, teachers, and where to line up.

3- What to bring- Please bring your cameras if you would like to take pictures! There will be a station to take photos with your child! A cell phone works too!! Each class will be there for approximately 1 hour - mentioning this for those who want to bring sun protection, hats, etc. There isn’t any shade in the bus loop.

4- Times- we ask that you adhere to the times of your class. As much as we would love to see your children all day, we have other classes rolling in and need to set up for them.

Fulop and Iglesias — We will start to allow in the loop at 11. We will begin at 11:15. Cars will leave at 12:15

Noel/Josselyn/Martinson- We will start to allow in the loop at 1:00. We will begin at 1:15. Cars will leave at 2:15.

Weinheimer/Flynn/Attili - We will start to allow cars in the loop at 2:30. We will begin at 2:45. Cars will leave at 3:45.

5- School gift- We appreciate all of your 5th grade contributions! We were able to purchase 2 gifts for the school this year! We purchased a red crape myrtle for the front of the school. You will see it (if you haven’t already) on June 14th AND we have another class rock as well! Stay tuned for a little surprise as to what we plan to do with that rock! Lastly - there have been 4 rocks added to the side of the school! Photos of those 4 rocks added below. Thank you Ms. Johnson for painting those!!

6- Parade- There will be a parade starting at 5PM on June 14th. Feel free to ask family and friends to come and sit along the sidewalks to cheer for your student. The route is posted below on the flyer. Students are encouraged but not required to decorate their cars! Students will drive through the route as neighbors/family/friends will cheer for them from the side.

Thank you,

Your 5th Grade Coordinators

5th Grade Photo Book

Dear 5th Grade Parents,

The 5th grade celebration team is working hard to make sure we celebrate Pinebrook’s 5th grade class of 20-21. One of the projects we are working on is a special photo book for just the 5th graders to remind them of their years at Pinebrook.

We’re asking the parents to: submit a photo of their child from kindergarten. We’d like for each child to be highlighted with a kindergarten photo placed next to their 5th grade photo. (We’re taking their 5th grade photo when they come in to put their handprints on the wall). Please submit only photos for which you own the copyright – professional photos are not necessary. Snapshots taken by mom or dad are just great. The best photos would be one where the child is standing or sitting by themselves, smiling at the camera. (Those first day of school snapshots are perfect for this project).

Please send your child’s photo to: puma5thgradephotos@gmail.com

Make sure to include your child’s name and their current 5th grade teacher.

Thank you!

Tara

5th Grade Photobook Coordinator

If your child has not had their handprint put on the wall please consider signing up for a photo slot between 12-2 on Wednesday so they can get their picture taken, their handprint completed, and sign the template for their 5th grade t-shirt. While we understand there aren’t enough slots for all there are several so sign up today! Please read all the information on the Signup Genius and click all the links so you know what to expect and how the process will work!
