Important Middle School dates

  • Registration Deadline for Mercer P.O.U.N.C.E. program is July 16, 2021 and registration for Willard Wildcat Welcome Week is open. See details below.

  • 6th Grade Course Acknowledgment

Parents please be sure to indicate your acknowledgment of your child's course recommendations for 6th grade. You should have received an email around 2/26/21 detailing the course recommendations and a link to a Permission Click to agree or ask for changes to the recommendations. If you didn't receive the email, please check the "Course Requests" tab on ParentVUE and send Mrs. Walker an email at tory.walker@lcps.org indicating your agreement or request for change.


Mercer Middle School Information

  • P.O.U.N.C.E. 6th Grade Transition Camp

P.O.U.N.C.E. is the name of the program for rising 6th grade students at Mercer during the summer. Its name is an acronym for "Preparing Our Unique and New Children for Excellence." The P.O.U.N.C.E. program will introduce students to the daily routine at Mercer Middle School, including locker assignments, the A/B day bell schedule and navigating the hallways. Students will have four, 40-minute classes each day which focus on the middle school way of life at Mercer and becoming familiar with its expectations.

When: August 2nd-August 5th

Time: 8:30 to 11:30 or 12:30 to 3:30

Cost: $125

Willard Middle School Information


  • Wildcat Welcome Week

Willard Middle School's "Wildcat Welcome Week" Camp allows our rising sixth grade students to get accustomed to middle school life prior to the start of school. Students will follow an A/B Day schedule as they rotate through 4 classes a day that teach them the ins an outs of Willard. Students will go on a school tour followed by a scavenger hunt around the school to get them familiar with the layout; practice important middle school skills including reading a middle school schedule and opening lockers; learn time management, organization techniques, and study skills to help students be successful in middle school; and meet new students from other schools who will be in their classes next school year.

When: July 19th -July 22nd

Time: 8:30 to 11:30 or 12:30 to 3:30

Cost: $125
