Hello 3rd Grade families!
Reminders:
Please use THIS INFORMATION to check to make sure your child’s Chromebook computer is ready for testing. It provides a link to test the computer and if it doesn’t pass the test it will prompt you to fix and provide steps to do so. This will really help us avoid technical issues on test day.
One big issue we ran into when we practiced as a class was “allowing pop-ups”. They need to disable pop-up blockers. If they do not they will not be able to see the testing log in screen.
The Pinebrook Family Readiness document will walk you through steps to disable pop-up blockers.
On the morning of your child’s MAP test, they will be provided with a separate Google Meet link to join for testing. This link will be opened immediately following morning meeting and will be posted in the chat box for students during the Morning Meeting.
Our schedule on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday will need to look a bit different to accommodate small groups of students testing.
8:00-8:30 > Morning Meeting/Morning Announcements (entire class)
8:30-10:30 > MAP testing (teachers have sent specific schedules via email)
If your child finishes their MAP test before 10:30 we will ask them to close the test window and Google Meet. They can take a break and/or read until Lunch.
If your child is NOT scheduled to take the MAP test that day, they will be given an independent work Playlist to complete during this testing window (similar to what they get on Mondays).
We will remind them about these playlists and post them on Schoology. There are different playlists for each day they are NOT testing.
The "Must Do" activities on the playlist should be done by Lunch time.
11:00-12:00 > LUNCH (entire class)
12:00 > ALL STUDENTS should be back in our class Google Meet to finish the day!
If you have any questions about MAP testing, please read THIS post by Mr. Thiessen and then reach out to your teacher, if needed. Thank you!
