Colin Whittington

I am Sergeant Colin Whittington. I graduated from Christopher Newport University with a degree in Political Science and another in German (I was born and raised in Germany, am a duel citizen, and speak fluent German). I also played soccer for CNU, won three Conference Championships and played in three NCAA Tournaments.

After graduating I worked as a server for two years before being hired by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office as a Patrol Deputy. I worked in Patrol for three years before serving as a Community Resource Deputy in Ashburn for a year. Sheriff Chapman then asked me to serve as his Public Information Officer where I was responsible for interacting with the media, drafting press releases, and running the agency’s social media pages. In January 2020 I was promoted to Sergeant and was put in charge of the Employment Services Section which handles the recruiting, background process, and hiring of all applicants to the Sheriff’s Office.

Awards/Honors: I have received two Life Saver Awards in my career. One for saving the life of a middle-aged man and one for saving life of a 10-month-old infant. In 2019 I was named the Virginia Deputy Sheriff of the Year (https://www.facebook.com/LoudounSheriff/posts/10157636807311977).
