This is the parade route.
The parade begins at Mineral Fire Department and makes a left turn onto Mineral Ave.
It proceeds down towards the DMV and past Mineral Mercantile, before making a left onto 5th Street.
The parade floats will then proceed right onto Louisa Avenue, and then left onto Budgie Road prior to entering Walton Park.
Spectators are asked to line main street in Mineral following the railroad tracks on E. 1st Street.
Parade spectators should be able to find a side street to park vehicles on.
Spectators can also park in Walton Park, but it will be very crowded post parade as that is where participant pick up is. You will not be allowed to leave prior to the parade ending.
The following intersections will be closed. Please see the attached map for the parade route.
522 will be a NO PARKING zone between Mineral Baptist Church and Mineral Fire Department
522 by the Mineral Fire Department making the left onto 1st Street
1st Street making the left onto Mineral Ave

The intersection of 5th Street and Mineral Ave towards Walton Park
There will be a parent drop off location in the parking lot of the doctor's offices. Parents will be asked to enter the parking lot off of 522, pull around the loop like an elementary drop off, and then exit will be onto 1st Street. It will be temporarily be a one way road.
If you do not want to drop off you student in this area, and would like to accompany your participant in the staging area, please park at Walton Park and ride the School Bus Shuttle over. There will not be a shuttle back to Walton Park after the parade is over.
The parade will end at Walton Park. Pick up of participants will be there. Please be patient; even though your participant may be one of the first groups in the parade, we will have the roads closed so you will not be able to enter Walton Park until after all the floats have gone by.
Participants are encouraged to carpool to Walton Park and ride the School Bus Shuttle from Walton Park to the Parent Drop Off at Mineral Farmer's Market. This is because there will be no return shuttle to Mineral Farmer's Market and there is no parking at the Market. There is plenty of parking in the grassy areas at Walton Park.
Please do not park behind Duke Oil as the business is open and we do not want to block up their lots and throughways.
This is where we stage the floats. All floats will be numbered and should face the same direction so that moving around the parking lot is relatively easy.
Please notice the direction of the arrows. This will be the flow of traffic. The outside rings will proceed towards the exit first followed
We ask that only participants decorating floats be in Mineral Baptist Church prior to a certain time. It will help ensure safety of all our guests and guarantee that participants are able to find the float they are looking for.
If you have people walking alongside your float or riding your float, we ask them to please stay at Mineral Farmer's Market with a chaperone. At a designated time, all participants who are accompanying a float will walk over and join their float. Floats and groups will have the same number for ease of communication.
We thank Mineral Baptist Church for their gracious hospitality every year.
This is where the walking groups will be staged.
If you are not helping to decorate a float, you will remain here with a chaperone until a designated time. This is to ensure safety of all our guests.
Numbers of the float and where your group is staged will be the same for ease of communication.
At a certain time, your entire group will walk over and board your float together.
Remaining walking groups will move forward in an orderly fashion towards Mineral Ave.
Walking groups will be mixed in with the parade floats by a parade staff member.
A bathroom for groups to use will be located here.
The parade ends at Walton Park. ALL floats will pull all the way into Walton Park and around the circle towards the back gate.
This is to move the parade off Mineral Ave to get traffic flowing again.
We ask that floats DO NOT stop moving all the way forward to unload passengers. Instead, we request that all parade participants stay seated on their floats until they pull up behind the float in front of them and come to a complete stop. This ensures the safety of all those involved.
Once stopped, a chaperone from your group may walk float riders to the grassy area to await pick up.
Walking groups can gather in the grassy area right in the center of Walton Park to wait for pick up.
Once dismantled, floats may proceed out the back gate at Walton Park onto 5th Street and make a quick right onto Richmond Avenue.
